Ruling parties form high-level political coordination committee

A meeting of the top leaders of the political parties supporting the formation of the incumbent government on Thursday has formed a 11-member high-level political coordination committee. The meeting held at Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) in Singha Durbar formed the committee under the leadership of UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The committee comprises Jhalnath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Bidhya Devi Bhandari from CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairperson Kamal Thapa, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic)Chairperson Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, CPN-ML general secretary CP Mainali, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC and Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party (NWPP) Chairperson Narayan Man Bijukchhe, among others. Representatives from other political parties in coalition government are yet to be finalized. Following the meeting, UML senior leader Jhalnath Khanal said that the committee will work to keep coordination between the government and the party and for providing policy inputs to the government. NWPP Chairperson Bijukchhe shared that they are mulling to take other non-ruling parties on board the committee. RSS
