The first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has entered its third day, with the party preparing to begin its much-awaited closed session after a delay caused by technical issues.

The closed-door session, originally scheduled for Monday, was postponed after delays in verifying delegates’ details and printing identity cards for convention representatives. The party has now started distributing identity cards, and the closed session is expected to begin once the process is completed.

Party spokesperson Manish Jha said the delay occurred because verifying representatives’ names received from provincial committees and printing identification cards took longer than expected. He added that as the party’s convention is its supreme decision-making body, the party is committed to ensuring a transparent and dispute-free process.

According to General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the closed session will include presentations of key reports related to the party’s discipline commission, financial status, organizational structure, and political document.

The convention’s inaugural session was held on Sunday at the Guest House grounds in Chitwan, while the closed session is being organized at the Exhibition Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The convention is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future organizational and political direction of the RSP.
