Rs. 7 Arba 88 Lakhs Collected in PM Disaster Relief Fund, Balen Says

Prime Minister Balen Shah has said that Rs. 7 Arba 88 Lakhs 57 Thousand 217 rupees has been collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund so far. Speaking in Parliament, Shah said that several countries, including India, China, the United States, Japan, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Korea etc., have provided financial and material support for disaster response and relief efforts in Nepal.
Shah said Indian, Chinese and Nepali tunnel experts are also working together in rescue operations involving tunnels. He further informed Parliament that 48 suspension bridges have been affected by the recent disasters, of which 28 need to be completely reconstructed while 20 require maintenance. Similarly, 31 motorable bridges have been swept away. The government is preparing to install Bailey bridges as soon as possible to restore road connectivity in the affected areas. 12 hydropower projects affected in which 8 were operational and 4 were in construction process.
