Private sector encouraged with budget, opposition criticizes

The private sector has been encouraged with the budget the government announced on Sunday. The businesspersons have urged the government to effectively implement it now.
FNCCI Chairperson Sekhar Golchha said various issues were incorporated in the budget and it was encouraging one. He observed that subsidy in export, focus on production and due address on agriculture sector are positive sides of budget.
Similarly, CNI Chairperson Bishnu Kumar Agrawal said promotion of manufacturing industries, review of land ceiling for industries, grant in export and discount on electricity tariff to export industries were welcomed.
NCC Chairperson Rajendra Malla also hailed the budget and stressed that government must implement it effectively.
However, UML Vice Chairperson and former finance minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel commented that the budget was focused more on election spending, continuation of ongoing projects and daily administration.
He blamed that the electoral government failed to understand current priority and even brought the projects of long-term importance.
Similarly, UML leader and former finance minister Surendra Pandey viewed there was no balance between government policy and programmes, and budget. "The implementation of this budget is impossible," he added.
