Pokhara Street Festival Marks Silver Jubilee: A Spectacle for Tourists

As the English New Year approaches, the Lakeside of Pokhara is gearing up to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Pokhara Street Festival. Organized annually by the Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN), Pokhara, this milestone event aims to promote tourism in the region.
Bishwo Raj Poudel, Acting Chairperson of REBAN Pokhara, announced that extensive preparations have been undertaken to observe the street festival as a silver jubilee celebration this year. The festival covers a three-kilometer stretch in Lakeside and is strategically planned to position Pokhara as a prime destination for both domestic and foreign tourists during the English New Year.
Poudel, also the festival coordinator, revealed that this year's edition would feature enhanced attractions to commemorate the silver jubilee. The festival, held annually under the theme 'Eat in the streets, Enjoy in the streets,' is scheduled to take place from December 28, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
Anticipating a significant turnout, organizers estimate that around 500,000 domestic and international tourists will visit the festival. The five-day event promises a diverse range of activities, including cultural programs, exhibitions showcasing national and international cuisines, displays of traditional costumes from various communities, boat races, volleyball competitions, concerts, and interactive sessions on 'Pokhara's tourism development, promotion, opportunities, and challenges.'
As Pokhara Street Festival reaches this momentous milestone, it continues to play a pivotal role in fostering tourism, cultural exchange, and community engagement, making it a highlight on the region's event calendar.
