PM Employment Programme for employment: Minister Bista
Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, has said that implementation of Prime Minister Employment Programme was necessary to end the trend of going for overseas employment. Minister Bista said that three level governments have to play crucial role to create employment opportunities by ending unemployment, the main issue of the country.
At a state-level interaction organised by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security at Butwal on Wednesday, he said that opportunity to live with employment would be created after effective implementation of the programme. He said that employment coordinators have been selected at 753 local governmentunits for implementation of the programme.
Saying it was necessary to implement the programme with a focus on the people deprived of employment and social justice, Minister Bista expressed commitment to provide employment to around 50,000 people this year and additional 500,000 next year by creating new employment opportunities in coordination and partnership among governments of three levels.
He further said that it was necessary to create employment to stop youths from going for overseas employment, adding that around 500,000 youths leave country seeking overseas employment every year. Similarly, Social Development Minister of State-5, Sudarshan Baral, said that Prime Minister Employment Programme has raised hope among the youths. A tri-party agreement was signed among federation, state and local level for the implementation of the programme.
