PM Balendra Shah Calls Cabinet Meeting to Approve Annual Budget
The Council of Ministers of Nepal has scheduled a critical meeting for 2:30 PM today to officially endorse the government's budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The meeting, taking place at the Prime Minister's official office in Singha Durbar, serves as the mandatory final step for the cabinet to review and pass the financial estimates, revenue targets, and planned expenditures before they are formally presented to the nation.
Following the Cabinet's approval, the complete budget plan will be presented later this afternoon at a joint session of the Federal Parliament. By constitutional mandate, Nepal's government must unveil its annual fiscal budget on the 15th of the Nepali month of Jestha every year. Today's endorsement ensures that the executive branch is fully aligned on the economic policy and fiscal allocations right before the Finance Minister steps up to the parliamentary podium to deliver the budget speech to the public.
