PM assures NRNs of investment-friendly environment

KATHMANDU:
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that an atmosphere has been created in Nepal for investment.
He made the statement during a meeting with non-resident Nepalis (NRN) living in America, in New York on Wednesday.
During the programme, Bhoj Raj Ghimire, Chairman of the Jana Samparka Samiti, Chicago handed over USD 3,834 to the Prime Minister for the PM's Disaster Relief Fund.
On the occasion, PM Koirala inquired about the situation of Nepalis living in the America.
According to Khagendra GC, Chairman of the Non-Resident Nepalis Association in America (NRNA), there are around 300,000 Nepalis currently living in the States.
PM Koirala urged all the Nepalis to return to Nepal and utilise all the skills they have learnt in America, back in Nepal.
He expressed his confidence that the constitution would be promulgated on the given time frame.
The Prime Minister further informed that the government is working out to include the parties outside the Constituent Assembly during the constitution writing.
Koirala, the President of the ruling Nepal Congress (NC), informed about the progress in constitution writing.
He further made it clear that the country would head towards the path of development only after the promulgation of the new constitution.
PM Koirala said that the recent Power Trade Agreement with India and Power Development Agreement with Indian multinational firm GMR have opened door for the investment.
The Prime Minister is currently in New York for the 69th UN General Assembly.
