Petroleum Imports Lead Revenue Collection at Birgunj Customs Office

Birgunj Customs Office collected Rs 73.18 billion in revenue from petroleum imports during the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2024/25—the highest among all imported goods.

Imports of five categories of petroleum products totaled Rs 174.09 billion, contributing 46.43% of the total revenue from the top 20 import items.

Vehicles and spare parts were the second-largest contributors with Rs 17.70 billion, followed by iron and iron-based products (Rs 5.78 billion), machinery and parts (Rs 5.26 billion), and electrical machinery and parts (Rs 3.67 billion).

Clothing imports brought in Rs 3.06 billion, while other notable revenue sources included tobacco products (Rs 2.58 billion), cosmetics (Rs 2.52 billion), plastic raw materials (Rs 2.32 billion), and lubricating oils (Rs 2.19 billion).
