Peoples Hydropower Company Approves Equity Investments in Two Companies

The board of directors of the PHCL has approved investments in a hydropower company and an agribusiness firm by utilizing a portion of its surplus investable funds, according to a decision taken at its meeting held on Asar 19, 2083.

The company has decided to purchase 500,000 shares with a face value of Rs 100 each in Nyadi Phidi Hydropower Ltd., which is developing the 21.4 MW Nyadi Phidi Hydropower Project in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality, Lamjung. The project is under construction and has secured the necessary survey and generation licences, and is targeting commercial operation by November 2027.

In addition, the company will acquire 200,000 shares of Janata Agro & Forestry Ltd. at Rs 125 per share. The agribusiness company is engaged in agricultural and forestry production across several districts, including Jhapa, Arghakhanchi, Lamjung, and Parbat, markets its products under the Aafnai Mato and Ashapuri Organic Farm brands, and is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) in the near future.

The investments were approved in accordance with the company's Articles of Association and are intended to deploy its available investable funds.
