The stock market’s wait for the online trading system is supposed to take longer time. For the full implementation of Online Trading, the earliest possible date has been speculated to be Dashain of the current year.
The full-fledged implementation will only be done after the completion of ‘User Acceptance Testing (UAT)’ and after receiving approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). Due to this, the share market will have to wait till Dashain to use the online trading.
The testing of the online trading has been going since Thursday. Five broker companies were suggested by Nepal Stock Broker Association to conduct the testing programme.
The UAT has been scheduled to be conducted after the completion of testing from the broker companies. NEPSE had published a notice regarding the UAT of Online Trading System. It had requested the interested software service providing companies to place their bids. The software companies can place their bids till Ashadh 10.
As per the information received, about 5 application forms have been taken from NEPSE but they have not been returned. However, the last date of application has been scheduled as Ashadh 10. So NEPSE is still hopeful for the applications to be received.
The UAT will be focusing on the security system of the software. For the reason, the software companies that have worked in an international level will be given much priority. NEPSE has segregated about Rs 1.50 crore just for the testing of UAT.
After receiving the bids from the software companies, NEPSE will start study of the bids which will take about 2-3 weeks. Providing approval to the selected company will take will Ashadh end. The authorized company will have 2 months’ time to complete the testing. So, the much waited online system is supposed to make the stock market wait for it for an extended period.
