NTC HELPS NARROW NEPSE LOSS

The secondary market of Nepal today also didn’t show any sign of retaliation even after trading in the down trend for past three days. The local bourse opened near the yesterday’s closing and then started to plunge till the last minutes of the trade near to a level of 514 but the trade of the NTC at Rs 588, which was Rs 11 higher than the last traded price, helped the benchmark index to narrow its loss to meager 0.2 points; the Nepse index today closed at 519.06 levels.
The incline in NTC also boosted the Others sector up by 7.04 points. Likewise, Hydro also made a soar of 2.64 points whereas Hotels gained 0.39 points. Also, Development was able to sustain in the green terrain today as it made ascent of 0.34 points.
As for two of the remaining Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking dropped 1.85 points whereas Finance loss 0.87 points. As for Insurance, it tumbled by 3.36 points following the decrease in the level of 6 scrips among the eight traded.
Overall there were trade of 85 scrips among which 30 scrips increased 9 remained intact and 46 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, City Development Bank Limited (CDBL), closed at Rs 166, with Rs 12 or 7.79% gain. Whereas, Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL), closed at Rs 100, was the worst performer with Rs 10 or 9.09% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded, Kumari Bank Limited Promoter Share (KBLPO), closed at Rs 100, topped with 199,450; the scrips also had the highest turnover in the market today worth Rs 19,945,180 which was carried out by the 4 transactions.
Among the ordinary scrips, Civil Bank Ltd (CBL), closed at Rs157, topped both the category with 37,775 units worth Rs 5,984,461 via 113 transactions; in which Broker no 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active Broker with 40.70% stand alone dealing of CBL, tallying 15,377 units worth Rs 2,435,566 via 13 selling transactions which includes two matching totaling 3,867 units worth Rs 610,986.
Altogether there were trade of 412,525 units of shares via 1,052 transactions worth Rs 79,616,808; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 504,105.96 Millions
