NRB's Chet Prasad Uprety Appointed as Chairman of Nepal Clearing House Ltd.

Mr. Chet Prasad Uprety, Executive Director at Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has been appointed as the new Chairman of Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) by its Board. He officially assumed the role on May 21, 2025, after taking the oath from Deputy Governor Bam Bahadur Mishra.

Mr. Uprety brings over 27 years of experience within NRB and currently heads the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Supervision Department. He succeeds Mr. Vishrut Thapa, also from NRB. NCHL, a public limited company backed by NRB and financial institutions, plays a key role in Nepal’s payment and settlement infrastructure.
