NRB to Invest Rs 3.3 Billion in Banks Through Gratuity and Pension Fund

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced plans to invest Rs 3.3 billion from the gratuity and pension fund in A, B, and C class banks and financial institutions for a period of 366 days.
According to the central bank, eligible institutions must have been operating for at least two years, meet the minimum total capital fund requirement, maintain non-performing loans below eight percent of the total loan portfolio, and keep their net non-performing loan ratio within three percent.
Interested financial institutions must submit their applications by September 30, clearly stating the amount they wish to borrow and the interest rate they are offering. NRB said proposals will be evaluated competitively to ensure secure and beneficial returns on the fund.
