NRB issuing bond worth Rs 8 billion; sale of the bond will done through bidding model

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is issuing development bond worth eight billion rupees. In a notice today, the central bank said it is issuing the ‘development bond’  today (Jestha 12, 2076).

The sale of the bond will take place through a bidding model. Banks and financial institutions, non-banking financial institutions, insurance companies, incorporated organisations and Nepali citizen will be eligible to purchase the bond. It can be used as collateral for taking loans. The interest rate will be half-yearly and tax will be imposed on the achieved interest.

This bond is listed on NEPSE and transactions (BUY/SELL) can  be done in secondary market.
