NRB directors assume office
KATHMANDU, April 9:
Two new members of the board of directors of Nepal Rastra Bank -- Dr Sri Ram Poudyal and Dr Ram Hari Aryal -- took oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.
Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi administered oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed board members, said a press statement issued by the central bank.
Dr Poudyal and Dr Aryal were appointed as per the cabinet decision of March 29.
According to the statement, Dr Poudyal, who is also a senior economic advisor at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) completed his PhD in economics from Delhi University and master´s in economics from Manchester University, London.
Dr Aryal, who spent 32 years as civil servant, completed PHD in demography from Adelaide University, Australia, and obtained his master´s degree in economics from Tribhuvan University.
“They will be serving NRB for five years,” reads the statement.
