NRB Begins Monetary Policy Preparations for FY 080-81

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has begun preparations of the monetary policy for the upcoming fiscal year 2080-81.

Following the announcement of the financial Budget 2080-81, the central bank too has begun work to prepare the monetary policy for the upcoming fiscal year.

For the purpose of preparation of the monetary policy, NRB has commenced receiving suggestions and recommendations, which can be made until Ashad 10 at the Department of Economic Research.

In the earlier unveiled budget on Jestha 15, the government aims to achieve an economic growth rate of six percent and to achieve the same the central bank has to provide the necessary support by drafting an appropriate monetary policy.

It has been learnt that the monetary policy will be unveiled by NRB during the first week of Shrawan, 2080. 

As the Nepali economy is reeling with recession, a flexible monetary policy is required to tackle the ongoing economic challenges.
