NRB and IFC Join Forces to Drive Nepal’s Climate Finance Strategy and Green Growth

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have signed a landmark MoU to develop a comprehensive climate finance strategy for Nepal.

The partnership aims to strengthen climate-related financial mechanisms, mitigate risks from natural disasters and low-carbon transitions, and mobilize resources for green projects such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and resilient infrastructure.

The initiative includes phased implementation, capacity building, and training for financial sector professionals, with the project running until September 2028. Officials emphasized that this collaboration positions Nepal as a proactive leader in regional climate finance and supports sustainable economic growth.
