NIC ASIA inaugurates tree plantation program
NIC Asia Bank Limited has begun Tree Plantation program as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)project by planting 200 saplings. The program was coincided with the inauguration of National Sports 2073.
Jagdish Prasad Agrawal, NIC Asia Bank’s chairman declared about the program in his speech during nineteenth Annual General Meeting.
Issuing a statement it stated that the Bank has taken up a CSR project to plant more than 7 thousand plants this fiscal year.
As the plantation season will kick off only in June, remaining saplings will be planted in due time, stated NIC ASIA’s Biratnagar Cluster Head, SantoshRathi during the function.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed between District Sports Council, Morang and NIC Asia. The District Sports council has provided specific area for tree plantation within the boundaries of cricket stadium in Baijanathpur VDC at Morang. As per the arrangement, the Bank will plant 1500 saplings in the area allocated and maintain the plants for next two years whereas the District Sports Council will ensure fencing and security required to safeguard the plants.
Also the statement added that the bankis seeking suitable partners to execute its CSR project to contribute to environment and greenery in the community. Organizations and sites like schools, colleges,hospitals, government offices and any other well fenced and protected sites across the country in the vicinity of its branch networks has been identified so that partnership for the noble cause with such organizations and communities can be arranged.
