A newly constructed concrete bridge spanning the Trishuli River, linking Devghat Rural Municipality in Tanahun with Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan, has been completed at a total cost of Rs 216.848 million.

The bridge, which connects Devghat-5, Ghinatar, and Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1, Thimura, has been operationalized, marking a significant milestone in the region's infrastructure development.

Til Bahadur Thapa, the chairperson of Devghat Rural Municipality, has outlined plans for a formal inauguration ceremony to commemorate the bridge's completion.

Tankanath Poudel, the chairperson of the Bridge Construction Users Committee, has disclosed that efforts are underway to extend an invitation to President Ramchandra Paudel to officiate the inauguration ceremony, scheduled for March 30 (Saturday).

In preparation for the invitation to the President, a meeting involving security chiefs, including the Chief District Officers of Tanahun and Chitwan, is slated to convene today. This gathering aims to address logistical and security arrangements for the inauguration event.

Construction of the bridge commenced in October 2015, marking a culmination of years of planning and execution to enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother transportation links between the two regions.
