NEPSE Yearly Performance Highlights: Falls 7.05% in FY 2082/83, Ending at 2,597.80

With the conclusion of Fiscal Year 2082/83, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed at 2,597.80 points today, down 196.98 points (7.05%) from its fiscal year opening of 2,794.78. As the fiscal year comes to an end, this analysis reviews how the market and its sectors performed throughout the year, highlighting the key the overall index performance, sector performance, top 10 companies by volume, turnover and by number of transactions along with top 10 Broker of Fiscal 2082/83. 

During the fiscal year 2082/83, the NEPSE index opened at 2,794.78 and experienced a highly volatile journey before closing lower at 2,597.80, resulting in a net loss of 196.98 points (approximately -7.05%). The market reached its yearly peak of nearly 3002.07 in 29 July,2025 followed by a sharp correction to its lowest point around 2,487.17 in late 16 October 2025. Despite mounting a strong secondary rally in March 2026, where the index reached to around 2965, subsequent modest corrections ultimately pulled the index downward, ending the fiscal year on a bearish note.
