NEPSE up by a mere 1 point with turnover of just Rs. 32.89 crore; Banking loses 1.65 points

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) Index has closed positively today, but with a gain of only 1.00 point or 0.07 % to close trading at 1457.82. Kumari Bank (KBL) had the highest turnover, potentially influenced by recent announcements of its right and bonus shares.
Nepal Life Insurance Co. (NLIC) has the second highest turnover of over Rs. 2.76 crore.
Today, Nepse Index opened at 1456.82 points and after that it was seen in a downward trend. The market rebounded after the second trading hour. 71,648 units of Civil Bank Limited (CBL) and 61,519 units shares of Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) were traded the most today.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 32.89 crore where more than 6.38 lakh units shares were traded through 2,892 transactions. Total turnover has been on a decreasing trend for a couple of days. Yesterday, the turnover stood at just Rs. 39 crore. Trading of one broker company (Asian Securities) has also been suspended which might have added to the decline in the turnover. Karnali Development Bank (KRBL) hit positive circuit today while Mithila Laghibitta Bikas Bank (MLBBL) closed at negative circuit level.
Sensitive and float index went up by 0.27 and 0.07 points respectively. Commercial banks lost 1.65 points, Finance lost 5.1 points and Other sectors lost 2.03 points today. Insurance sub-index gained 86.44 points today.
