NEPSE to Remain Closed Today, Govt Declares Public Holiday to Mark International Labour Day

The Government of Nepal has declared a public holiday today, Wednesday, corresponding to the 18th of Baishakh, to celebrate 'International Labour Day'.

The Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will be closed in observance of International Labour Day. Trading will resume on Sunday, the 21st of Baishakh, 2082, starting at 11:00 AM.

International Labour Day, celebrated each year on May 1st, honors the contributions of workers and the labor movement. It recalls the historic battles and achievements of workers and unions, emphasizing their ongoing struggle for fair working hours, improved wages, and safer working environments.
