NEPSE Surges to 2,175.40 Levels, Boosted by 1.69% Rise in Banking Sector; Market Cap Hits Rs. 34.50 Kharba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed an incline of 23.25 points today, an increase of 1.08%, closing at 2,175.40 points. This follows a gain of 15.79 points in the previous trading session.

The trading day commenced with the index at 2,162.87 points, reaching an intraday low of 2,160.63 points. The index experienced a high of 2,176.60 points before settling at the closing value of 2,175.40 points.

Today's trading session involved 322 stocks across 72,714 transactions, with a total trading volume of 15,296,739 shares. The overall turnover reached Rs. 5.74 Arba with a market capitalization of Rs. 34.13 Kharba and a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.79 Kharba.

Hathway Investment Nepal Limited (HATHY) led the market in terms of turnover, achieving Rs. 15.08 Crores and closing at Rs. 1,023.50 per share.

10.25% SBL Debenture 2083 (SBLD83) hit the positive circuit for the day, surging by 10%.

Conversely, Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited (BNHC) lost all 10% today.

In sector performance, only one sector concluded the day in negative territory. The "Development Bank Index" recorded a loss of 0.29%, while the "Banking Index" saw the highest gain, inclining by 1.69%.
