NEPSE SURFACE TO GREEN

The secondary market of Nepal after three days of continuous fall, recouped to settle in the green pasture. Though the market index in the initial hour sustained loss, the rally in the Insurance and Others sector followed by the increment in the remaining sectors boosted the local bourse in the later hours. The improvement in the benchmark Nepse index by 5.32 points today propelled the market index to close at the day’s high of 488.73 levels.

Altogether there were trade of seven sectors which all settled in the green pasture.  Among the sub-indices, the highest gainer was the insurance sector with 17.04 points. Similarly, Hydro surged by 9.09 points and Others by 9.39 points. As for the Banking and Financial sub-indices, Banking gained 5.35 points, Development ascended by 1.29 points and Finance made growth of 0.56 points. As for Hotels, it increased by 2.27 points.

Overall there were trade of 85 scrips among which 52 scrips increased 15 remained intact and 42 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Tourism Development Bank Ltd. (TDBL), closed at Rs 92, with Rs 11 or 13.58% gain. Among the shares trading above par, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd  (SIC), closed at Rs 1035, was the top gainer with Rs 60 or 6.15%. Whereas, Himalayan Gen. Insu. Co. Ltd. (HGI), closed at Rs 181, was the worst performer with Rs 9 or 4.74% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1) , closed at Rs 11, topped with 126,574 units. In terms of ordinary scrips, Siddhartha Bank Limited (SBL), closed at Rs 293, topped with 36,739 units. In case of turnover also, SBL topped with Rs 10,293,711 via 65 transactions; in which Broker no 16 (Primo Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 65.48% stand alone dealing of the SBL, tallying 48,120  units worth Rs 13,480,145 via 57 transactions which includes 16 matching transactions totaling 12,500 units  worth Rs 3,501,500.

Altogether there were trade of 332,782 units of share via 930 transactions worth Rs 69,390,160; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 480,343.60 Millions.
