NEPSE shows slight improvement, goes up by 5.86 points with a total turnover of Rs 55.6 crore

NEPSE index had declined by double figures yesterday, but today it has gained 5.86 points or 0.43%. The market had opened at 1,358.92 which climbed upto 1,377.26 at around 1:30 PM but then it declined in the second half and closed at 1,364.81 in green.
Total turnover worth Rs 55.68 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 11.51 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day. 4,319 transactions were made for the transaction of the scrips.
Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 6.71 crore worth shares were traded. Similarly, Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) was the top in case of number of shares traded as more than 2.71 lakh unit shares were exchanged.
Likewise, Gurkhas Finance Ltd. (GUFL) was the top gainer of the day as it gained 5.47%. And, Kanchan Development Bank (KADBL) was the top loser of the day losing 9.009% on its price.
Both the sensitive and float index increased by 1.51 points and 0.36 points respectively.
The sub-indices for Banking, Hotels, Finance, Others and Microfinance sectors inclined and landed in green zone. On the other hand the indices for Development Bank, Hydropower, Insurance and Manufacturing and Processing decreased and landed in red zone today. Hotel sector was the winner of the day gaining 31.26 points and Manufacturing and processing was the top losing sector for the day losing 10.41 points.
