NEPSE Plunges 28.59 Points to Close at 2077.58 Levels; Market Cap Stood at Rs. 3.05 Trillion

The Nepal Stock Index (NEPSE) on Tuesday suffered a loss of 28.59 points which is equivalent to a decline of 1.35 percent compared to the closing of the previous day. In today's trading session, the stock exchange has managed to close at 2077.58 levels.

The session started with the index opening at 2,106.18 and made its intraday high at 2,124.32. Throughout the trading session, it demonstrated downward momentum, reaching an intraday low of 2,070.33, before settling at its closing value of 2077.58.

During today's trading, a total of 262 scrips were exchanged through 40,837 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 6,015,067, representing a turnover of Rs. 1.92 Arba. 

The market capitalization stood at the end of Tuesday's trading stood at Rs. 30.53 Kharba contrary to the market cap. of Rs. 30.95 Kharba at Monday's closing, indicating a loss of Rs. 42 Arba in a single day.

Among the stocks Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Limited (UPPER) recorded the highest turnover, with an impressive amount of Rs. 8.74 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 410. 

Similarly, among the listed scrips Super Madi Hydropower Limited (SMHL) gained the most with 4.60 percent change to close at Rs. 398.

On the other hand, Kisan Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (KLBSL) lost the most with a decline of 57 points. 

Among the sub-indices, all sub-indices closed red while mutual funds gained 0.35 percent. The Non-Life Insurance sub-index lost the most with 2.47 percent.
