NEPSE loses double digits on the first trading day after Tihar break; turnover less than Rs.10 Crore

The market today lost 1.42% or 17.31 points and closed at 1205.22 points. The turnover today was very less compared to other days as it didn’t even reach Rs.10 Crore. The turnover was at Rs.9.94 Crore which was achieved from trade of 314,297 units of shares through 1,465 transactions trading scrips of 125 companies in the process. As per the sources, the turnover was low as the trading system had crashed and many brokers weren’t being able to access the system.

Prabhu Bank (PRVU) topped the turnover and shares traded list after trade of 33,720 units of shares posting a turnover of Rs.84.88 Lakhs followed by Nepal Bank (NBL) on both the lists after 27,671 units of shares were traded posting a turnover of Rs.82.16 Lakhs.

Today’s top gainer was Swadeshi Laghubitta (SDESI) after it gained 3.52% or 24 points and closed at Rs.705 per share. Api Power Company (API) lost the most today after losing 9.94% or 18 points to close at Rs.163 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 4.11 points and closed at 255.98 points while Float Index lost 1.33 points and closed at 87.49 points.

Only Finance and Others sector were in the green zone gaining 0.21% and 0.10% respectively. Banks were the top losing sector after posting a loss of 2.32% or 25.08 points.
