ShareSansar, 14th September:

The only secondary share market of the country ended in the red zone on the first trading day of the week today, though it didn’t post a double-digit loss. The Nepse index closed at 902.15 level, shedding 8.5 points.

Following high degree of volatility in the market over the past weeks, it now seems that the market is more or less stabilizing. The benchmark index has been hovering between 900 to 910 levels for the last three trading days.

Three out of seven sub-indices stood in the green zone today while the rest were slightly into the red zone.

The Hotels group gained 18.94 points, the Development Bank group 0.3 point and the Manufacturing group posted a gain of 2.32 points.

On the other hand, the Banking sub-index, which covers around 80 percent of the total market capitalization, lost 8.34 points to close at 808.46 level. Hydropower sub-index shed 33.45 points while the Finance and Insurance sub-indices posted marginal loss of 4.95 points and 8.76 points respectively.

The total market turnover today stood at Rs 34.34 crore.  Relatively lower turnover in the market these days is obvious in the face of the festive season.
