NEPSE Loses 21.16 Points and Closes at 2,586.51; Eleven of Twelve Sectors Close Red

The NEPSE index lost 21.16 points on a highly volatile day today and closed at 2,586.51. The index opened at 2,627.33 and did not trade at anything higher than that. The index lost in intraday action today, going as low as 2,519.41. With this, total volatility of 107.92 points was observed in the trading session today.

17,714,912 shares traded hands via 83,357 transactions. The trading of 205 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 8.56 Arba.

While the float index lost 1.52 points and closed at 178.41, the Sensitive index is at 467.94 after losing 2.41 points.

Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 73.94 crores. Its shares also traded the most. NIFRA is also the highest loser today with a loss of 10%. This is NIFRA's first red day after listing. It had been hitting 10% positive circuits until today.

The top three highest gainers have technically hit the 10% positive circuit today. Meanwhile, NIFRA has lost the most 10%, followed by Ankhukhola Hydropower Company Limited (AKJCL) which lost 6.67%.

Trading is the only sector that gained today, that too, a minimal 0.9% gain. Among all other sectors which lost, the sector "Others" has lost the most 2.33%.
