NEPSE lose 2.58% in the week's first trading day ;largest recorded loss in last three months.

The NEPSE index fell 33.71(2.58%) points to close at 1273.95 points, following widespread selling in hotels, insurance and others sector. Rise in petroleum prices and most importantly introduction of new CGT on bonus & right shares hit the market sentiments miserably.

From the first trading hour market started its downtrend, index went down straight from  1307.62 to around 1280, where it finds support and retraced but could not cross the crucial 1300 level.  NEPSE index could not resist the retraced high points even for 20 minutes so forth moves downward after reaching there. After the downfall of almost 20 points it consolidated there for next one&half hours and at the last half hour we saw slow downfall in the market. Today the volatality is comparatively high as a result we saw large fluctuation in the market. Today market had opened at 1307.62 points and closed at 1273.95 points.

Total turnover worth Rs 54.66 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 9.97 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 6,473 transactions. All these three units are relatively high comparing to last couple of weeks. 

Rastriya Beema Company Limited Promoter Share (RBCLPO) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 3.76 crores worth of shares was traded.

Similarly, Nepal Bank (NBL) was also the top in case of number of shares traded as 87,540 unit shares were exchanged.

Gainers are very few today; Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) was the top gainer for the day, whose price increased by 4.04% closing at Rs. 26,500.

Mega Bank (MEGA) was the top loser of the day by losing 9.70% on its price. Mega was the top loser of last five consecutive trading days by loosing more than 9% on each day.

The sub-index for manufacturing & product ends in green as a result of Unilever gains, while the sub-indices for rest of the sectors declined and landed in the red zone.

The trading sector lost the most today tumbling by 4.25% (290.83 points); Manu & product sector is up by 1.55 %( 35.88 points).
