NEPSE Index Witnessed Minimal Loss of 0.22 Points; Hotel and Tourism Index Suffers Steepest Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a loss today, losing by a minimal 0.22 points (0.00%) to settle at 2,600.53. This follows a 4.78-point gain in the previous session.
The benchmark index opened at 2,603.47, touching an intraday high at 2,629.26, while the lowest point was 2,599.72. Total turnover for the day reached Rs. 5.76 Arba, with 13,818,559 shares traded across 316 companies through 62,755 transactions. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 43.32 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 14.61 Kharba.
Butwal Power Company Limited (BPCL) topped the turnover chart, amounting to Rs. 27.65 Crores. The stock closed at Rs. 809.
Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Limited (OMPL) led the gainers' list with 8.01%.
Meanwhile, 10% NIC Asia Debenture 2085/86 (NICAD85/86) recorded the steepest drop, falling 5.17%.
Among sectors, the Banking sector registered the highest gain, gaining 0.44%, while the Hotel and Tourism Index saw the highest loss at 0.98%.
