NEPSE Index Witness Harsh Plunge; Fell 31.80 Points, Investment Worth Rs 48 Arba Wiped Out in Single Day

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,045.44 points, as the index fell by 31.80 points or 1.53% compared to the previous day's closing. On the last trading day, the index experienced a minimal loss of 3.61 points.
The session kicked off with the index opening at 2,077.03 and briefly touching an intraday high of 2,078.76. However, the market reached an intraday low of 2,041.12, before finally settling at the closing value of 2,045.44.
During today's trading, a total of 278 scrips were exchanged through 61,341 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 5,603,179, representing a turnover of Rs. 2.15 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 30.62 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.79 Kharba.
Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) recorded the highest turnover of Rs. 20.55 crores and closed at a market price of Rs. 2,017.
Similarly, Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL) gained the highest 5.18% to close at Rs. 1,016.
Meanwhile, Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) lost the highest 7.69% today.
In terms of sector indices, only Mutual Fund Index closed green while the remaining closed green. Manufacturing and Processing Index lost the most with 4.26 percent positive change while Trading Index lost the least 0.50%.
