NEPSE Index Sheds 38.37 Points, Investment Worth Rs. 56 Arba Wiped Out in Single Day

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,051.47 points, as the index experienced a double-digit loss of 38.37 points or 1.83% compared to the previous day's closing. Last Thursday, the index experienced a gain of 3.00 points.
The session kicked off with the index opening at 2,095.43 and briefly touching an intraday high of 2,101.90. However, the market reached an intraday low of 2,041.69, before finally settling at the closing value of 2,051.47.
During today's trading, a total of 265 scrips were exchanged through 61,917 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 8,007,361, representing a turnover of Rs. 2.68 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 30.15 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.67 Kharba.
Sanima Bank Limited (SANIMA) recorded the highest turnover, with an impressive amount of Rs. 12.69 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 297. The shares of KBL were the most traded.
The newly listed stocks IME Life Insurance Company Limited (ILI) and Nepal Republic Media Limited (NRM) gained the highest 9.99% and 9.98% respectively as they almost hit the positive circuit for the day.
Meanwhile, Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL) experienced the highest decline of 9.59%.
In terms of sector indices, all sector indices closed in red, the "Hotel and Tourism" sector registered the highest loss of 3.59% whereas the "Mutual Fund" sector lost the least, declining by 1.05%.
