NEPSE index rises by 9.78 points; commercial banks among the highest turnovers

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has gained 9.78 points today. The index has closed at 1,551.06 points today after rising by 0.63%.
Although the market remained fairly stagnant until the end of three hours, it rose only in the last trading hour. Over 10.79 lakh units shares were traded today from 5,501 different transactions. Although some excitement was seen in the later hours, the turnover was limited to only Rs 48.29 crore.
Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) accounted for highest turnover of Rs 4.79 crore. It has gained 2.45% today. Likewise, commercial banks like Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCB), Sanima Bank Limited (SANIMA), Kumari Bank Limited (KBL), Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) and Century Commercial Bank Limited (CCBL) were scrips that accounted for highest turnover amounts. Commercial Banking industry accounted for Rs 24.22 crore of trade today.
On the other hand, microfinance companies were among the top gainers with Rural Microfinance Development Centre (RMDC) gaining 6.62%. Likewise, Mahila Sahayatra Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha (MSMBS), National Microfinance (NMFBS), RSDC Laghubitta (RSDC), Mero Microfinance (MERO) and Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (LLBS) also gained the most.
In the market where only Hotels and Manufacturing sectors ended up losing, sensitive index gained 2.12 points and float index gained a meager 0.8 points. Insurance sector witnessed the highest growth of 50.06 points.
