NEPSE Index Records Four Consecutive Days of Decline; SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Sees Highest Turnover

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a slight loss of 0.17%, or 3.43 points, settling at 2,006.78 points at the close of trading today, following a loss of 1.85 points in the previous session.

Opening at 2,011.66, the trading day witnessed fluctuations as the index reached an intraday high of 2,017.21 before dipping to an intraday low of 1,999.85.

With a bustling trading environment, 322 different stocks were exchanged in 52,065 transactions. The total volume of shares traded stood at 6,481,834, reflecting a total turnover of Rs. 2.53 Arba. The market capitalization closed at Rs. 31.82 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.73 Kharba.

 

SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited (SJLIC) stole the spotlight today, boasting a turnover of Rs. 25.80 Crore and closing at a market price of Rs. 518.00. In response to its impressive performance, the company has announced a generous 35% dividend for its shareholders, contributing to its status as the highest turnover company of the day.

 

Similarly, Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL) showed the highest gain of 10%, followed by Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) with a gain of 9.97%.

 

Conversely, River Falls Power Limited (RFPL) faced a decline, losing 4.40% to close at Rs. 391.

 

In terms of sector, Three Sector Indices concluded in positive territory, with the "Microfinance Index" leading with a gain of 1.65%. However, the "Manufacturing And Processing Index" witnessed a decline of 1.74%.
