NEPSE index plunges by more than 14 points and closed at 1233.23 points; total turnover is still low

Market was uni-directional today; market was moving downward throughout the day. We haven’t observed any retracement in the whole day and the index was making lower-low during the trading hours.

Market today had opened at 1248.07 points and hit the intra-day high at 1248.62 points in the first 10 minutes and then moved downwards. NEPSE index reached intra-day low at 1232.78 points and finally closed at 1233.23 points by losing 1.13% (14.07 points).

Total turnover worth Rs 24.50 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 6.64 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 4,361 transactions. All these three units are relatively low comparing to last couple of weeks. 

Grameen Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (GBLBS) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 2.27 crores worth of shares was traded.

Similarly, NMB Bank (NMB) had topped in case of number of shares traded as 54,367 unit shares were exchanged.

Radhi Bidhyut Company (RADHI) was the top gainer for the day, whose price increased by upper circuit limit of 10% to Rs. 319.

Prime Life Insurance Company (PLIC) was the top loser of the day, which closed at Rs 590 by losing 6.79%.

The sub-index for Hotels sector ends in green, while the sub-indices for rest of the sectors declined and landed in the red zone.

The Hydro-power sector lost the most by 1.74% (27.05 points); Hotels sector is up by 1.55 %( 35.88 points).
