NEPSE Index Plummets by 1.49% While Volume Declined to Rs 1.18 Arba; Market Cap. Stood at Rs 29.35 Kharba

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 1,960.78 points, as the index lost 29.81 points or 1.49% compared to the previous day's closing. The index lost 2.82 points last Wednesday.

The session kicked off with the index opening at 1,990.82 and made an intraday high of 1,991.11. However, the market reached an intraday low of 1,958.83, before finally settling at the closing value of 1,960.78.

During today's trading, a total of 276 scrips were exchanged through 37,041 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 4,053,368, representing a turnover of Rs. 1.18 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 29.35 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.34 Kharba.

Soaltee Hotel Limited (SHL) recorded the highest turnover of Rs. 3.88 crores and closed at a market price of Rs. 438. The shares of GBIMEP traded the most.

Similarly, Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) gained the highest 10%, hitting the upper circuit for the day.

Meanwhile, Liberty Energy Company Limited (LEC) and City Hotel Limited (CITY) lost all 10% today.

In terms of sector indices, all sector indices closed red. "Hotels and Tourism" lost the highest 3.03% while Banking lost the least 0.87% today.
