NEPSE index moves straight downward and lose more than 2% on the first trading day of the week

Today NEPSE index had open at 1257.16 points, at the beginning buyers tried to dominate and took NEPSE index to the intra-day high at 1258.96.  Then market moved 16 points downward in next half hour and then consolidated for next 40 minutes. Then NEPSE index moved slowly downward for next one & half hours to reach an intra-day low at 1231.47 points and in the last 40 minutes it consolidated and closed at 1231.64 by losing 25.43 points (2.02%).

Turnover was around 30 crores at 2:30 pm and in the last half hour, a stock of worth around 14 crore were traded making total turnover of 44.43 crore at the end of the day. In last half-hour we saw consolidation which means those 14 crores acted as a support against the falling market. Today the index had formed a kind of bearish Marubozu candlestick pattern.

Total turnover worth Rs 44.43 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 11.76 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 5,711 transactions.

Mega Bank (MEGA) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 4.2 crores worth of shares was traded.

Again, Mega Bank (MEGA) had top also in case of number of shares traded as 1,47177 unit shares were exchanged.

Unnati Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha (UNB) was the top gainer for the day, whose price increased to near upper circuit limit by 9.94%, closing at Rs. 1,526.

Mirmire Microfinance Development Bank (MMFDB) was the top loser of the day by losing 8.03%, hence closing at Rs 1,625.

The sub-indices of all sectors declined and landed in the red zone.

The insurance sector lost the most today tumbling by 3.37% (217.24 points).
