Nepse Index lost 21.88 points to close at 1522.80 points; Minimal turnover above Rs 40.55 crore

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) dropped by 21.88 points or 1.42% to close at 1522.80 points. Nepse Index opened at 1544.76 points today and the local bourse went up to 1549.99 points in the first trading hour of the day and afterward it was seen in downward trend. 43,600 units shares of National Hydropower Company Limited (NHPC) and 34,307 units shares of Bank of Kathmandu Lumbini Limited (BOKL) were traded most today. Arun Finance Limited (ARUN), Api Power Company Limited (API) and Pokhara Finance Limited (PFL) hit negative circuit today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 40.55 crore where more than 7 lakh units shares were traded through 3,819 transactions. Sensitive index and float index slightly went down by 4.85 points and 1.59 points respectively. Except Manufacturing and Production, all the sub-indices landed in red zone today. Insurance sub-group witnessed the biggest drop of 147.5 points followed by hotels.
