NEPSE index fails to find its spark; World Merchant’s price falls below Rs 100

The stock market registered slight decline today to close at 1,182.42 points. The market which had started at 1,183.89 points showed its tendency to decline from the start of the day.

Total turnover has also dipped to Rs 16.92 crore during the day. The turnover was result of trading of 6,63,390 unit shares of 153 companies through 2,546 transactions.

Of all the shares traded during the day, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SWBBL) was the most traded. Shares worth Rs 1.46 crore was traded during the day. Similarly, Civil Bank Limited (CBL) topped the charts of being the most traded by number of units as 84,896 units were traded.

The shareholders of Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) earned the most as the price of the share increased by 4 points to reach Rs 109. However, the shareholders of World Merchant Banking & Finance Limited (WMBF) lost the most as the price fell by 4 points to reach Rs 98.

Both the sensitive and float index decreased by 0.39 points and 0.09 points respectively.

Only Hydropower, Finance and Manufacturing and Production were positive in the day’s trade. Hydropower sector increased by 9.61 points while Life Insurance sector lost 56.60 points.
