NEPSE index drops by nominal 2.14 points, turnover amount plunges

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) Index has dropped by 2.14 points today (0.14%) to close trading at 1477.72.
Today, Nepse Index opened at 1479.45 points, and increased to 1484.25 in the first trading hour. It eventually fell down to 1477.72 points, largely influenced by the news of FPO of Standard Chartered Bank. 61,726 units of Nabil Balance Fund – 1 (NBF1) and 56,240 units of NMB Sulav Investment Fund-1 (NMBSF1) were traded the most today.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 27.52 crore where 4.88 lakh unit shares were traded through 2,371 transactions. Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) hit positive circuit today. Hamro Bikas Bank (HAMRO) and Bhargav Bikas Bank (BHBL) were also among the top gainers today.
Prabhu Bank (PRVU), whose trading resumed today, hit negative circuit. Sahayogi Bikas Bank (SBBLJ) and Sagarmatha Insurance Company (SIC) were also the top losers today.
Sensitive index increased by 0.09 points whereas Float index decreased by 0.35 points. All the sectors except banks landed in red today. Banking index rose by nominal 1.59 points only.
