NEPSE index drops by double digits, Prabhu Bank’s promoter share aids turnover

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) Index has dropped by 11.63 points today (0.79%) to close trading at 1466.09. Today, Nepse Index opened at 1477.72 points, and increased slightly to 1479.76 in the first trading hour. It eventually fell down to 1466.09 points. 25.01 lakh units of Nabil Balance Fund – 1 (NBF1) and 21.49 lakhs units of Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1) were traded the most today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 58.87crore which is almost double the turnover of the previous day (Rs 27.52 crore). Today, 76.51 lakh unit shares were traded through 2,680 transactions.  Rs 20.42 crore (approx. 35%) of the overall turnover today was solely contributed by Prabhu Bank Promoter (PRVUPO). News of 400% right shares helped Green Developent Bank (GRDBL) reach positive circuit today. Lumbini Finance Limited (LFLC) and Sahayogi Bikas Bank (SBBLJ) were also among the top gainers today. Prabhu Bank (PRVU), whose trading resumed yesterday has hit negative circuit today as well. Karnali Development Bank (KRBL) and Khanikhola hydropower company (KKHC) also hit negative circuit today. Sensitive index dropped by 2.07 points whereas Float index also decreased by 0.91 points. All sectors except Finance landed in red today. Finance index rose by nominal 0.84 points only.
