NEPSE Index down by 8.79 points to close at 1135.09 level; Low Turnover of Rs 27.29 crore due to festivities

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange went down by 8.79 points or 0.77% to close at 1135.09 level. Today was the first trading day after K.P Oli was elected as the new Prime Minister. Opening at 1143.88 level this afternoon, the local bourse was seen in downward trend. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 27.29 crore where more than 3 lakhs unit shares were traded through 1,423 transactions. The low turnover is attributed to the festivities. The investors are holding their cash for the upcoming festivals rather than investing in NEPSE. Sensitive index and the float index went down by 1.78 points and 0.66 points respectively.
