Nepse Index down by 4.88 points to close at 1,718.35 points; Major sub-indices closed in red

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange went down by 4.88 points or 0.28% to close at 1,718.35 points.
NEPSE index opened at 1723.33 points and went down to 1709.63 points during the second trading hour of the day.
Somehow it seems that market still is trying to regain control or at least affirm the growth that it has already incurred. As the major segments including banks, hydropower and insurance are negative, the index has closed in red. The transaction totaling in the market today is overwhelming as well. As we are approaching the new monetary policy, the possibility of a hefty capital growth among the companies could have aroused interest among investors towards the sector. Well from what we can anticipate as of now, there could be some opportunities for the investors in those companies in days to come. Though the fact that market again is at a significant pinnacle is an obvious point to be made.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 1.77 arba, where more than 19 lakhs unit shares were traded through 6,283 transactions.
Sensitive index went down by 1.41 points and 0.34 float index went up by points.
Banking, Hydropower and Insurance sector closed in red. Development Bank went up by 63.02 percent.
