Nepse Index down by 1.43 points to close at 1216.96 points; Hotel up by 21.5 points

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange went down by 1.43 points or 0.12% to close at 1,216.96 points. Today nepse index opened at 1218.38 points and went to 1220.12 points during the second trading hour of the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 36.45crore where more than 6 lakhs unit shares were traded through 1,888 transactions. 66,958 unit shares of Dev Bikas Bank were traded today and its share price increased by 10% to close at Rs 231. The rumors of Dev Bikas Bank being merged with a commercial bank has caused sudden increase in the share price. Sensitive index and the float index went down by 0.35 points and 0.09 points respectively. Banking, Hydropower, Insurance and others landed in red, whereas Hotels, Development Banks and Finance landed in green. Hotels sector went up by 21.5 points.
