NEPSE Index breaks turnover, shares traded and transactions record to reach 29 month high; four companies hit the positive circuit

The market today was in the green zone for the whole and gained massive double digit points to close at 29 month high. The benchmark index gained 3.30% or 50.93 points and closed at a high of 1596.13 points. The turnover record has been broken again in a matter of days after posting a turnover of Rs.4.15 Arba, highest till date. It was achieved through trade of 9,906,989 units of shares traded through 32,154 transactions, breaking the record for highest transactions and total number of shares traded in a single day as well. A total of 180 scrips were traded today.

Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) posted the highest turnover at Rs.21.99 Crore with LTP of Rs.1494 per share. Seven other companies posted turnover above Rs.10 Crore. Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) stood ahead in terms of volume with trade of 589,988 units of shares. The LTP of the stock stood at Rs.308 per share.

Four companies hit the positive circuit today. Preference Shares of Everest Bank Limited (EBLCP), Rastriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL) and Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) gained 10% each followed by Kalika Power Company Limited (KPCL) with gain of 9.91%. Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) was today’s top loser after losing 8.29% or 17 points to close at Rs.188 per share.

Sensitive Index gained 9.49 points and closed at 336.05 points while Float Index gained 3.41 points and closed at 112.70 points.

All the sub-indices ended in the green zone after gaining points today. Life Insurance, Manufacturing and Banking sectors were among the top gainers.
