NEPSE increases by 6.26 points to 1295.78 on appointment of Deputy Governors; 8 companies hit ciruit

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange went up by 6.26 points or 0.49% to close at 1,295.78 points. Today NEPSE index opened at 1289.53 points and was seen in an upward trend.

The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 60.37 crore where more than 10.47 lakhs unit shares were traded through 3,231 transactions.

The meeting of the cabinet of ministers held today has appointed Chintami Siwakoti and Shivraj Shrestha for the post of deputy governor in Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). As soon as the news was out the stock market reacted positively with microfinance gaining the most.

API Power hits circuit as the company plans to raise Rs 240 crore from shareholders for the future projects. Other seven companies has also hit circuit today.

Sensitive index and float index went up by 1.1 points and 0.53 points respectively.

Except Hotels and Manufacturing & Production, all the sectors at NEPSE landed in green. Insurance sector went up by 41.42 points.
