NEPSE Gains Minimal 12.53 Points and Closes at 2,520.23, Non-Life Insurance Companies Gain the Most

The NEPSE index closed at 2,520.23 today after gaining 12.53 points from yesterday's closing. This is a minimal gain of 0.5% on the index. The index had gained 92.16 points yesterday.
229 scrips traded hands via 59,008 transactions. The Float index is at 173.04 after gaining 0.43% while the Sensitive index gained 0.02% and is now at 477.36.
Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 36.24 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 6,800 per share. The shares of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) traded the most.
While Shikhar Insurance Company Limited (SICL) gained the most 9.97%, Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) lost the most 6.74%.
Three sectors indices lost and ten others closed green. "Finance" lost the highest 1.95%, and "Non-Life Insurance" gained the most 3.56%.
Technical Analysis Highlight
The index opened at 2,522.51 and created the intraday low at 2,485.55. While it went as high as 2,541.91, it ultimately closed at 2,520.23, which is very near the market-open. This has led to the formation of a small-body candle with long wicks on both sides on the candlestick chart. Although NEPSE gained today compared to yesterday's closing, the candle is red because the index closed lower than the market-open.
A total of 8,323,923 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 4.49 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 4.523 Arba.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 48.96. The reading was at 47.89 yesterday. The RSI reading breaking above 50 would indicate intermediate-term upwards momentum. Meanwhile, both the MACD line and the signal line are negative, i.e. below zero, with the MACD reading at -66.68. This reading was at -78.04 yesterday. It is important to note that the MACD line crossed over the signal line yesterday, hence indicating bullish sentiment.
