NEPSE gains 9.39 Points; NIC Asia has the highest turnover

On the last trading day of the week, NEPSE stood to gain an astounding 9.39 points and closed at 1181.69 points marking a gain of 0.80%. This comes after the finance minister’s positive outlook on the country’s economic growth and macro-economic indicators. The turnover today was Rs.21.09 Crore which was achieved from trade of 694,378 units of shares through 2,953 transactions trading scrips of 167 companies.

NIC Asia Bank (NICA) saw the highest turnover today as speculation regarding declaration of dividend as bonus shares for last fiscal year rises. Other stocks having highest turnover were Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) and Nepal Investment Bank Promoters Shares (NIBPO). While Mega Bank Promoter Shares (MEGAPO) achieved the most shares traded followed by NIC Asia Bank (NICA) and NMB Bank Limited (NMB).

Sensitive Index grew by 1.98 points while the Float Index grew by 0.76 points.

Except for Hotels sub-index, all the other sub-indices stood to gain today closing in the green zone. Non-Life Insurance and Life Insurance sector were the highest gaining sub-indices.
